Description of a Postpartum Doula
A postpartum doula is there to help a new family in those first days and weeks after bringing home a new baby. Services include, but are not limited to, help with self-care recovery, postpartum comfort measures, infant care, parenting information and assistance with learning to feed and take care of your baby, as well as other practical services.
Postpartum doula services for a family last anywhere from a few days, up to a few weeks after bringing home a new baby.

Information presented in our meetings and conversations is not intended as a substitute for the medical advice of a properly licensed health care professional. In addition, doulas do not make specific health claims or promise medical results. We provide education, guidance, postpartum and feeding support.
Service Description
Once you have requested me to act as your doula, I will provide the following services:
With our postpartum support packages, I will provide one (1) prenatal meeting. At this meeting, we will discuss and explore your priorities and concerns, and plan how to best work together to meet your needs. This will also be used as a postpartum planning session to help get you all set up for the arrival of your baby.
I will be available to answer questions about upcoming baby care or services anytime before the birth of your baby.
Once your baby is born, I will provide the following services:
Education on postpartum issues
Guidance with newborn care and feeding
Feeding support and tips
Emotional support and nurturing for the new mother
Help with postpartum care (ie: preparing sitz baths, foot soaks, belly binding, etc)
Healthy and nutritious meals and/or meal planning
Light housekeeping (ie: light laundry and folding, tidying up)
Baby or sibling care whilst mum rests
Client Responsibilities
Honest communication about any relevant medical or emotional health conditions.
Ideally, you would notify me within 24 hours after the birth of your baby so that I can arrange my schedule and notify you of any scheduling conflicts.
I am available to be contacted by email or text before or in between our sessions with questions you may have. Please try to limit these to standard working hours where possible.
Fees & Billing
A non-refundable deposit of 20% is due upon the signing of this contract. The remainder of services must be paid for, in full, 14 days prior to the expected start date. If, after services are completed, you wish to contract for additional visits, these will be invoiced for separately.
Cancellation and Rescheduling - In-home services
If The Client cancels their visit, with or without a food package with more than 14 days notice, 100% refund will be available, less those paid for services already rendered.
If The Client cancels their visit, with or without a food package with 14 days notice, 80% refund will be available, less those paid for services already rendered.
If The Client cancels their visit, with or without a food package within 14 days of the visit, no refund will be available but will be able to be rescheduled. If The Client purchased a food package, any food that has been prepared within 48 hrs of the visit may be collected from The Doula by The Client or their support person, at a time suitable to The Doula.
The Client and The Doula are able both able to reschedule an in-home visit without food, with 12 hours notice. It is not guaranteed that any rescheduled visit will be able to occur within the same week that the original booking was made.
If The Client wants to reschedule an in-home visit with less than 12 hours notice, The Doula will offer a 1.5 hr Zoom call “Digital Doula Support” in-place of the in-home visit. No refunds will be provided.
If the client wants to reschedule an in-home visit with a food package with less than 12 hours notice, The Doula will offer a 1.5 hr Zoom call “Digital Doula Support” in-place of the in-home visit. The Doula will drop-off the pre-made food within 12 hours. No refunds will be provided.
Please note the following:
I am very cautious about bringing any illness into the home of a newborn. I will not hesitate to reschedule if I think I may be getting sick.
In signing this contract, you agree that I have discussed all the points herein and you understand and agree with them.
